MISS Summer Camp 

2024 Dates: June 10-15, 2024
Location: Seahorse Key Marine Lab in Cedar Key, FL

Description: The MISS Sleep Away Summer Camp is a FREE marine science program intended to provide accessible science experiences for teens 13-17 from historically excluded groups in STEM including: gender minorities, racial/ethnic minorities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people from low income or underserved communities. Housing, snacks + meals, and transportation* will be provided.

This opportunity is open to students living in the USA or its territories, citizenship is not required.

​*Transportation is provided to those leaving from SRQ and TPA airports. Travel awards will be provided to those outside the area to cover flight or mileage.

Students will participate in a broad range of activities including:​​

• Fishing
• Kayaking
• Snorkeling (optional)
• Field surveys 

• Shark Dissections
• Coding
• Data Analysis
• ​Science Communication
